Dolls – Toys From Antiquity
Dolls are believed to have existed since prehistoric times, and may well have been the first type of toys used by man. These dolls were certainly made of natural materials such as clay, wood and leather. Many of them may have been used as toys for children, but is believed to be often used to represent a deity, and likely played a crucial role in rituals and religious ceremonies.
None of these antique dolls have survived through the ages, but dolls have often been found in Egyptian tombs dating as far back as 3000 years.
